Food News - South LA - No Mo’ Mickey D’s

image

People are pressing our government to do something about the obesity epidemic.  They responded by banning trans fat in our food in some cities.  YAY!!!  New York also requires restaurants to post caloric information right on the menu.  But you can always leave it to our politicians to take it one step further.  This article from the LA Times discussed a 32 square mile ban on new fast food restaurants for one year in South LA.  So don’t count on having two Church’s Fried Chicken (better than KFC in my opinion) on the same block.

Don’t you love how they ignore the real problems and focus on the nonsense?  I believe this is how their thought process works…

“Let’s see, gas is above $4 a gallon, banks are failing, people losing their homes, California budget crisis, DMV on strike, people losing jobs...these are hard.  Ahhh, I’ll deal with the fatties today.  That’s easy.  No mo’ fast food restaurants.  I’m brilliant.  They’ll thank me later.”
